Waking the Giants

"The Story of the Giants" From the play The Good News, written and directed by Jon Tracy. The story was read by the character Z, played by me.

Jon wrote this amazing disturbing and gorgeously beautiful play that we did last year. I posted this monologue here on opening night, but as it's been well over a year, and I found new pictures that just scream at me to go with the story again, I decided to repost it. Plus most people who read this now, did not read it back then. And if so, well enjoy again. :)

The Earth used to be covered with big big humans.
Bigger then the buildings.
Big enough to swim the oceans.
Big like the Redwoods we gape at.
Big enough to shut down the mind.
Shut down now - and listen.

The Earth was happy.
They were happy.
All of them.
They knew how to love and win.
There was peace in the beginning.
There was.

Then suddenly we came.
Somehow.
And things weren't happy anymore.
We have a way of making things very, very sad.

The big ones asked us to just stop.
Stop and be happy.
But we didn't listen, and kept on being mean.

So the Giants had a meeting to figure out what to do.
Because something had to be done.
They thought about burning us.
Or drowning us.
And many things they felt were not in their nature.
And this made them sad.
Because they didn't want to change.

So they decided to all go to sleep.
Because at least there in their dreams, they could still be happy.
But they promised, that if ever things got so bad that they woke.
They would surely stand again.
And they would destroy us.
They thought this was fair.

So they laid down on the Earth, pulling their blankets over them.
Their vertical shapes creating our mountains.
Their snores, our quakes.
Ready...

Waiting...

Oooh a list!

I love Listverse. I read it everyday, just like Geekologie, Cracked, Plurk, Livejournal, Facebook, Dlisted, and Google. Anywho back to the list.

Listverse is badass. All sorts of interesting lists (and I've gone back and read almost all of them) So from time to time I will post links to their list of the day, if its something that really interests me, and hopefully anyone reading this will go check them out too!

My Oh My!

Well it's been suggested to me since so many of my posts are about The Bell Jar, to check out this website called Book Drum. I'm already dying and reading into some of my favorite books. It's like someone put together a website to help explain and go further and deeper into the facts and tid bits of books, just for me. This is the type of stuff I love.

And now, I know what I'm gonna do with the rest of my morning :)

What I love about movies...

I wanted to see this movie back when it came out, and as usual, forget all about it. Last night at my every Tuesday night plans of food, tv shows and movies, we decided to watch this. I may ask a lot of questions, mostly to myself, (which feels good cuz I was always one step ahead of what was going on, in a good way though not a "I saw that coming" way) This is beautifully acted, and I really recommend checking it out.

It's on Instant Netflix if that helps!

Cuz this is too badass, Death Star Pumpkin

I've been craving some John John Jesse.

I've been obsessed with his work for like the past 6 years or so. Wow, 6 years. That's crazy.

Bitchin good time. As always

I'm still so tired from this weekend. And as much as Friday night seemed long and boring and lonely, Saturday night made up for it, and Sunday was relaxing and much needed.

Saying "Fuck it" and partying like a 22 year old ever so often feels great. Though, I did wake up Sunday with all these little cuts on my hands, and this one biiiig scratch down my side. I have no idea..

I'm still sleepy. So look at these things. heh

Beautiful, Stunning, I want to be one

I love Sylvia Ji's stuff. How could I not, really. It's the culture and art styles that I deeply connect to. Maybe I'll just paint my face and go as one of these beautiful ladies for Halloween. Pretty sure it's the same outfit I wore as one of my costumes last year, Frida Kahlo. Ughh these are just soo pretty.

Holy Shit, Batman!
