We will draw the curtain and show you the picture

Tomorrow night I'm going to see Impact Theatre's Twelfth Night by Shakespeare.
I did a show (See How We Are based on Antigone) at this theatre last year, and fell in love with the venue (under La Val's Subterranean Pizza), the company (only doing new plays by emerging play writes, and amazing altered Shakespeare) and the crew (The stage manager from SHWA, Sarah is one of my dear friends, and in the first two photos, Seth was in SHWA, and featured in the last photo, and Melissa who was are artistic director, is directing this one!)
More photos can be found at both the website (link attached above) and on their facebook site.
I am ever so excited to go see this, as I love the story, and seeing it set in modern Hollywood sounds perfect. Plus any show that you can bring your food and beer downstairs to enjoy while watching, is good by me!
BTW my favorite bar ever is not far from the theatre, and a required stop for me whenever I go to the Berkeley/Oakland area! Gotta love the King Fish!

OH MY GOD!!!

Ida Maria's song "Oh My God" has now become my song of the moment.. I first heard it on a promo clip for an episode of ... yeah I know... Gossip Girl.. (don't judge!) And I knew I had to find that song.

It's a Mother 'Uckin Lady Gaga Post!

To prove that she REALLY can sing so well, here is her acoustic version of Poker Face. Geez, I love her voice.

Lady GaGa Poker Face (Official Music Video) - HQ.mp3 - Lady Gada

My favorite song on the album is Poker Face... Check out the video here and here is her myspace page. Also here is her website, which I'm totally all over.

Yep. I love her. Totally addicted to her. She's one fierce biotch. I rock out in my car to her album on a daily basis. I love her look, her style, her attitude. She's got this awkward thing about her, that I find so sexy, and I just can't get enough. Oh man, my addiction is so bad. I love her more like I love Britney Spears, maybe more, who knows.... She just does this thing... that I really like haha.. whatever that is. Go get her album. DO IT.

Tuesday Rats In The Alley Day!!!

Click to make it larger if you like!

Matt, John, Stew and Derrick, a handful of my dear Rats. :) Derrick is always so dapper. haha

So it's Tuesday everyone, and you know what that means? The Rats in the Alley are playing at Uncle Bong's Pizza! This is my favorite part of the week! Getting to see my friends perform Improv and eat damn good pizza and drink beer! (oh and the karaoke at the end of the night is great too!) Just thought I'd share a little Spot Light on my friends the Rats. Some of them I've known for far too many years, some I've just recently met, and some I'm very close to. They never fail to amaze me. :)

Here is their myspace is you wanna check it out! If you are ever free on a Tuesday night and wanna come drive out to Suisun, it's totally worth it! Trust me!

Oh and don't forget that you can still buy tickets for my friend (and a member of the Rat's) Matt's comedy show in Vallejo on Feb 28th. I'm getting 5 tickets already, and hope that anyone else in the area can make it out too! Here is the website for more info on that Comedy Show!

Spot Light: Up and Comers. Mixi

I Miss Those Days (Ghost) - Mixi

Do any of your watch Fuse? It's quickly becoming one of my favorite channels. And if you know me, then you know I have a weakness for bad reality TV. I've watched a little of everything, and stumbled upon a show called Redemption Song. At first I was pretty put off by it. 'Bad' girls trying to change their image to be taken seriously, and win a the chance for a record deal to make it big. Wait... bitchy girls, booze, cussing, music.. why wouldn't I like this show?!? Haha. Anyway, it was a wonderful show, and as the weeks went by I found I was getting more and more attached to the underdog. Mixi.

Her style was very much her own, which I love. Mixing hair colors, tattoos and dark eye make up, with her jazzy soulful voice, and playful attitude. I was hooked. Luckily for me, Mixi won the whole kit and caboodle, and I was there glued to my tv, squealing for her victory and buying her first real song "I Miss Those Days (Ghost)" from Itunes. And the video, super adorable! She's so cute!

Her myspace is here, and last night she had a Stickam chat going where she was answering questions and just being herself. I had some issues with my webcam and couldn't get it up and running but think I got it fixed now, so I plan to join in on Monday when she'll be back.

The thing is, she's just so real. She's a real girl that went through some hell, just like anyone else. Last night in the chat she smoked a cigarette and said "not to tell her family". Just like a normal person, and even tried to borrow a beer from a neighbor. She giggled, and smiled and was really enjoying that connection with her fans. I really recommend you give her a chance. She warms my heart.

Spot Light. Up and Comers!

Today's Spot Light features my co worker Ed, and his photography. Click the link to check out the rest of his work.

I've known Ed for a year and a half now, and he's that guy that always has his camera with him. Here at work there are times when we need to take pictures of things, and he's right there, ready with his Nikon D300. He can bring out the beauty in anything. Be it this Praying Mantis that hid in the back bushes at our office, or the amazing sites he saw during his Mediterranean Cruz this Fall, or just his friends hanging out.

I admire photographers more then any other type of artists. Maybe it's because I know I cannot do what they do. With illustrating or painting, I can describe the world as I see it, through my very distorted inner eye. Photographers do the opposite, they can show us the world that is around us, still using all the detail that I love in art, but this time its real. This is how the world really looks. Colors and shapes and angles.

I collect photography, saving it to my computer and getting them printed out on sites like Snap Fish, and then arranging them on my wall. What started as a wall to hang pictures of my friends, and memories I didn't want to loose... has grown into it's own art exhibit, featuring these two, as well others taken by Ed.

Now when I look on my wall of pictures, I can find the colors and shapes I want to use. It's impossible to ever achieve the vibrant colors that his camera lens finds.

And that's my first Spot Light! :)
Thanks Ed, for allowing me to write about ya!
